Didn't IGN say that God of War 2 is better than the original? So the original scores number one and GOWII doesn't make the list? --- Jack Bauer can't do this anymore. |

I have a feeling that I'm going to disagree with at least half of that list once I've played it all. Final Fantasy X? Yeah right. Maybe XII. And the fact that NBA Street is on there makes me wonder just how amazing the PS2 was. I'm guessing placing the best PS2 game is a very hard thing to do, because there are going to be a lot of different opinions on a lot of things. On the GCN, basically everyone will say MP or RE4. --- 'All opinions are not equal. A lot of good games on the list... Glad they gave the nod to stuff like TM:B, and acknowledged the second R&C as the best... But FFX? GoW as best? SotC so high? GTA3 over its successors? God of War 2 was by far better than the first. Just became it came out late in the console's lifespan doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a spot, but regardless, GoW1 doesn't deserve #1. Shadow of the Colossus is an outstanding game, have you played it? Extremely short, granted, but outstanding. GTA3: San Andreas by far deserves a higher spot than either of its predecessors. ICO doesn't deserve such a high spot. Kingdom Hearts 2 was far better than the first game except for the piss-poor Lion King segment, and deserves not only a higher spot, but a spot period. --- a/s/l/r/r/h/w/b? |

I don't own a PS2, but I find the omission of Vice City a little surprising - sure, III had more of an impact and SA was on a grander scale, but it seems to me like VC definitely had the best sense of style and managed to be packed instead of as empty as the majority of SA's world was. The cities in SA just didn't feel the same, even though it was set in my favorite state (plus Nevada, I guess)... Why is RE4 on there? They could've chosen another game to fill its place. I'm also disappointed at the lack of any of the Sly games. I would've replaced RE4 with the first or second Sly game. The third one can go to hell. It's not really that it's bad, it's actually probably the most fluid and well-rounded game in the series, but the gameplay felt like a mini-game fest, and you never really used your character's abilities to the fullest like in the second game. Plus, they took out some of the best things about 2, like the Clue Bottles. And the ending pissed me off. </bitter> --- MOTHER 3 TC is a Mormon..... RE4 is one of the best games of the generation, port or not. No way it can go without representation on every platform its available on IMO. Sly is a good point. Maximo, Katamari. |
