Your pick for Best Title of Last-Gen (2000-2006)

This weekend marks the transition from one game generation to yet another. What was your favorite game to come out for the PS2, Gamecube or XBox? Here's the game I enjoyed the most this time.... METAL GEAR SOLID 3: SNAKE EATER I had more fun with this game than any other. It completely made up for MGS2 and successfully freshened up stealth mechanics. Just playing around in those areas with camoflauge was a whole lot of fun, to say nothing of the story, graphics and voice acting. The climax sequence was like playing an action movie. All in all it was incredible stuff and it makes me hope MGS4 will be ported to the 360 ('cause there's no way the PS3 will be at an affordable price by the time it goes on sale). --- "Well excuuuuuse me, Princess." --Phoenix Wright, 1/2007 www.platypuscomix.net |

I've once proclaimed, that if someone asked me to point out the most interesting title of this generation, there would be many honorable mentions (Eternal Darkness for instance, though it isn't very good as a game) but that the single most interesting one would be Killer7 Which isn't the best game I played this generation, but simply the one most worth mentioning. --- Currently playing: Xenosaga - Episode III (PS2) Blast from the past: http://users.ign.com/collection/Big_Bear_is_back |

Shenmue - Dreamcast. If we're apparently not counting that console then I'd say KOTOR. --- Jimbo009's sigs never stick. Yes, considerably. |

For me it would be either Tales of Symphonia, Resident Evil 4, or Metroid Prime. Those are games I can play again and again for years and years and not get tired of. That, and, well, they are all really good, and stuff. --- The ZSB: It's not about you, or me. It's about Zii. {Board 548} SPOOKAY!™, it's MacDaddy Mike! |

GC: Tales of Symphonia, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Paper Mario, Zelda Master Quest, Animal Crossing PS2: Kingdom Hearts (I & II), GTA, Harvest Moon, Simpsons Road Rage X Box: Need for Speed, Burnout, Simpsons Road Rage But I don't know why we can't chose from portables. I pick Tales of Eternia - PSP over all the above ones. But from the above: Kingdom Hearts II - PS2 Yeah, I'm a Sony traitor. It'd be a toss up between Katamari Damacy and Wind Waker. Tough choice. Leaning towards Katamari Damacy. --- Marcus and I even go to the same barber, although I have a slightly better haircut. |

Handhelds aren't counted because their timetable is more erratic and completely separate. We don't get a new bunch every 5 years.... --- "Well excuuuuuse me, Princess." --Phoenix Wright, 1/2007 www.platypuscomix.net |

Dreamcast: - Skies of Arcadia, - MS-R, - Shenmue 1 and 2 - Marine Fishing (oh yeah, fishrod!) - Crazy taxi... Okay, no clue if the dreamcast is current gen or not, since it was borderline with the PS1 and Ps2 times.. anyway, it is the system with the most innovative gameplay this side of the wii, but lets say SoA is my all time favorite DC game. GCN: - Tales of Synphonia, - Metroid Prime, - F-ZeroGX GBA SP: -FireEmblem 1 and 2, - Pokemon emerald, - Warioware Honorable mention for the XBox: Project Indigo (better known as Fahrenheit). A friend lend it to me and I had a great deal of fun uncovering the story. Anyone who liked the gameplay of Shenmue should try that game, it had an interesting plot too. Add Project Gotham in as well. I don't have DS or PS2 favs, I didn't play a lot of those. --- If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking. ~ G.S. PS2: Devil May Cry 1 & 3, this has quickly become one of my all time favourite game series. GC: Super Smash Bros. Melee, one of the reasons I bought a GC. Xbox: Halo 2, I know it sounds rather unoriginal, but the times on Live were classic. You know what I mean JJ, AV etc. --- Let's kick some ass, and I hope I don't poop myself again -MacDaddy Mike |
