I give it... 8. It was kind of lacking in...EVERY CATEGORY. But, it is an RPG, and the system for stats increase was cool. I think there should be a GOOD RPG using the same system.

I'd give it a 10 cause i really like the game , especially with all the different music's. my fav part was when i got board, i could just walk around town and make up my own little RPG by doing voices or having problems in the kingdom. I especially liked doing thatin the second village, where everything was like undergruond, i forgot the name.

I give it 7, i liked the game, but the dungeons were long and boring, except for blue cave. The battles take a long time. The stats system was cool though, and it's an RPG, so it will never get lower than a 5. The story is basically SAVE THE WORLD! though, and I didn't like it as much as, say, ZELDA 64??

I give it a 4. It wasn't the worst gaming experience of my life, but in the end it was pretty lame. It's an RPG without a story, for crying out loud! As a gaming company, how could you possibly let that get out the door?

I would give it a ''fair'' 6.
The endless battles get tedious.
NO currency , coins , shops etc.
Not enough items , weapons , armour.
No sub-quests or mini-games.
True RPG Stat system.
Good graphics.
Good magic system.

Reasons
1. It's too easy to get turned around after a battle.
2. The 'dungeons' are to long and the enemy battles in them are too frequent.
3. The storyline consists of a kid looking for his father.
4. There's no element of strategy. It's just hit the enemis, and cast the occasiona spell.
5. The 'plot is way too straightforward. Not once is there a twist in the story.
And just because I think the game stinks doesn't mean I don't like it.

| This game is an absolute joke. i remember renting it a few years ago because i heard it was the first n64 rpg. this games story is pathetic. look for a book? thrilling... the player really doesnt have any motivation to keep playing. the main character,(i forgot his name) has no personality. the encounter rate was ridiculous in some areas. i would take two steps and get into a battle. the battles were also boring. they were too slow and often times the camera would get stuck behind a tree or something. yeah i know you can move it, but its annoying. now on to the music. i cant really remember too much, but i do remember it was bad. especially the music played in villages. the battle music was okay at first, but after hearing it 1000 times it got really irritating. the music that played when you were walking around the field was just too cheery i will admit though, that near the end of the game there were several tracks that i kind of liked. now on to the graphics. the graphics overall were alright, but they were too plain. especially out in the fields. there was absolutely no variety. another annoying thing in this game i forgot to mention is that after battles you often lose your sense of direction. yes, there is a compass, but it can still be very confusing, especially in dungeons. the gameplay wasnt too hot either. since you only had one character you're moves were pretty limited. boss battles were basically, ill hit you, you hit me, repeat 20 times until someone dies. i could go on and on about this joke of a game, but ill leave it at that. if you want a good rpg, play lunar or something. i just hate it when a company releases crap like this to make a quick buck. |

this game is such a load of rubbish...just thought id explain why...seems only 2 people have said WHY this game is excellent
First, I will not repeat stuff about armour and so on....
Music: Wads it just me or was the music to happy...
Graphics: They sucked...it took me 1/2 an hour to find the exit to the field ffs
AI: Get lost...there was no ai except ''aim for character with %^&* haircut.
Solution: Give this game to someone you hate, buy psx with ff7 8 and 9, and if youre really desperate legend of mana or tactics or.....
oh, score.... I give it 3/10 for the box.....LOL |

| I give it an 9.5. I think the kid's cowlick looks very cool, and other than that, the graphics are very stunning for an early N64 game. I like how your character doesn't level up directly but instead you choose which element you want to level up. That leads for tons of variety. You can either build one thing at a time or level them all out. The bosses are well renderded as are the enemies, and the battles are never too difficult if you play your game right. I especially like the circle of movement you have. It leads for a lot of variety. The number of battles you run into IS very tedious though, but that tends to appear in many games. The thing I dislike the most though is that if you have a certain item, people or monsters won't give you the same item. That makes it difficult to heal yourself unless you have a good Healing spell, which is NECESSARY near the beginning of the game especially for Solvaring. Anyways, overall, I give this game a 9.5/10. |
