I picked up the first volume of the original light novel version of Full Metal Panic. I think I like it best of the various incarnations I've seen, though if you don't like reading, you probably won't enjoy it as much.

So, done with Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai. Everything wrapped up surprisingly nice and neat. And then they put the final scene in, which made no sense at all. Am I to take it that's a lead in to S3?

I approve of your choices, though I ultimately like the Welcome to the NHK anime more than the manga [especially later on; the first 3 volumes and the anime run pretty much along the same track].

Watching Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei now Very clever, very original animation style.

The Pani Poni Dash anime is classic Akiyuki Shinbo... or at least as classic as Akiyuki Shinbo can be. Check out his other comedies like Negima!?, Hidamari Sketch, and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, or his other non-comedies like SoulTaker, Tsukuyomi Moon Phase or ef -a tale of memories-. He also directed the first season of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, if you've watched that, And if you haven't, consider it.

Rosario + Vampire: Not even watching this show at double speed saved it from being atrocious. I don't know how I suffered through an entire two episodes, but I advise you don't do the same.

Persona -trinity soul-: Decent enough. Since it's ostensibly a direct sequel to Persona 3, playing that game will probably enhance your enjoyment, but I don't think it's a requisite.

Spice and Wolf: This one's pretty cool. Kind of slow-paced and it's extremely character driven, but these aren't bad things, especially with characters as great as Horo.

They Are My Noble Masters - It's based off a dating sim H game, so you probably roughly know what kind of thing you'll be getting yourself into. Tries to be funny, but I'm not sure it succeeds. But it did include a segment of Borodin's Polovtsian Dances in its first episode, so that's gotta be worth something.

Shigofumi: ...wow. That was better than what I was expecting. Based on the next episode preview, the storyline might even continue, even though it gave off a "different story every week" vibe kind of like Jigoku Shoujo/Hell Girl. Also, opening by ALI Project starting in the second episode; it doesn't really fit the series, from what I've seen, but at the same time it's ALI Project so it can't really go wrong.

Hatenkou Yugi: I really have no clue who these characters are, as their introductions and development were almost purposefully mishandled, but in the end it really didn't matter, because I enjoyed what I watched. I almost wonder whether that was the point.

Spice and Wolf continues to be great. You have to get over the fact that the show practically obsesses over its having a wolf girl; then, it's really fun to watch, and the two main characters have great dialogues.

Shigofumi Episode 2 didn't live up to my hopes, probably because it tried to redeem its characters far more than was necessary.

Gunslinger Girls -il teatrino- : This is Season 2. You'll probably like it if you watched and liked Season 1. I also recommend that people watch Season 1, as it's a lot more psychological than the name might suggest.

H2O -Footprints in the Sand- : This one seemed like it might rise above standard dating-sim-turned-anime fare (I'm pretty sure it's based on a dating sim) since the main guy was blind, which seemed like an interesting twist. But it looks like he got his sight back due to magical powers at the end of the first episode, which killed any chance I had of thinking it would be interesting.

Minami-ke Okawari: Effectively Minami-ke Season 2, though there's been a pretty large change in character design. If you liked the first season, you'll probably still enjoy this.

True Tears: Apparently based off a dating sim, but the dating sim tanked so badly they made a brand new story for the anime. Didn't catch my interest.

Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei: This is Season 2. If you like the first season, you'll like this. And there's really no reason why you wouldn't like the first season, unless you're dead on the inside.

Death Note keeps getting better and better. I'm pissed that AS changed the time schedule so they could play Frisky Dingo and Harvey Birdman, though. Death Note now plays an hour later and I really can't be staying up that late, it messes with my schedule. I'm half-tempted to just watch the rest of the series subbed if they're going to pull this crap.

AND THEY TOOK OFF BIG O. >:(((

Moegaku * 5: This show is amazing, in all the wrong ways. Apparently Moetan wasn't bad enough, so they decided to make a show where a magical girl helps people learn five different languages instead of just one. I downloaded this one out of morbid curiosity, and it didn't let my expectations down in the slightest. If you also like so-bad-it's-good shows, you might really get a kick out of this one! You also might not even make it through the opening! It's only 9 minutes long, if that helps solidify your decision any. I don't think anyone's planning on subbing Episode 2, but I think I'd be willing to give each language one episode -- apparently Monday is English, Tuesday is Korean, Wednesday is Spanish, Thursday is Chinese, and Friday is French. It also has a live action segment in the beginning, hosted by (I can only assume to now be washed up) voice actress Aya Hirano, of Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya fame. She has some co-stars, too, and I think only a picture can do her motley crew justice.

Hey Rat recommend me some anime. I'm a big fan of Cowboy Bebop and Hellsing. Also like DB/DBZ (no comments =P), Akira, The Slayers, FLCL, Shin Chan (if you count that as anime, I don't really) and Ghost in the Shell from what I can think of off the top of my head.

I don't like giant robot anime, my best friend loves it and I just can't get into it. Also not interested in any girly romantic stuff. So I'd be interested in somethin thats comedy, horror or action based.

Borders sells lots of manga if you have one near you. Chrono Crusade's ending (manga) is great, I like it even more than RuroKen's.

Misa is truly the perfect girlfriend, loving Light even when he shows no interest. Just that and being comic relief makes me really like her as a character.

Misa is truly the perfect girlfriend, loving Light even when he shows no interest.

You're part of the reason we get moe shows every season now. What the hell? The perfect girlfriend is one who's wholeheartedly devoted to you even when you have no interest in her? That's disgusting.

I've been watching Baccano is my school's anime club, and it's pretty enjoyable. It's got a Pulp Fiction "the story jumps around" feel to it, but there's a lot more supernatural stuff going on too.

I've also been watching Now and Then, Here and There. It's... kind of boring. If it weren't trying to beat the "look how bad this post-apocalyptic society is!" motif into my head every 5 minutes, I might be more interested, but for now it's just a whirlwind tour of horrible things, which simply doesn't catch my interest. Maybe the protagonist will do something in the upcoming episodes, or maybe his morals will infect enough other people for them to band together and do something, but I'm not holding out for too much.

Seto no Hanayome is an amazing comedy. It's a style of humor significantly different from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (which is another amazing comedy), and I might enjoy it even more.
