So last night I was chatting with her, and she's like "I wish my long distance plan was different so I could call you. I get tired of typing" and I'm all like "whoo, I gots Skype for that!". Except in better english. We exchanged numbers, and it was all fine and dandy. I'm chatting with her tonight (not a good time for a phone call, unfortunately..), and she says she wants to hang out some time. Manga/anime stuff, and she'll teach to read japanese. Only problem is her roomate and I had affections for each other a couple years back, and I'm worried Jess might get bitter or jealous or something. Nothing happened between us since she was actually with another guy at the time, but still... Haven't really had a chance to talk to Laura lately. I called her Thursday morning, but she couldn't talk long. Apparently on the subway, and about to go into some tunnel. Stuff sucks again. Haven't gotten to talk to her in a while, and no reply to an email I sent her Saturday (maybe Sunday). Not really surprised, as she's back at home for a bit, and never was online much there. My email was about two weekends from now, when my mom and her husband won't be around, and I'd have a chance to do something with Laura, and probably Jess too. Since I hadn't heard back from Laura, and I was getting impatient, I asked Jess tonight about the weekend, and she told me that they'll be gone, away for a wedding the next day. Sucks. The only maybe possibility is if Laura's free Friday night instead of Saturday, but I don't know if I want to ask about that.. getting kind of nervous. I'll have to see how things go next time we talk. In other news, I had a dream last night that I was at some dance/concert, and after each slow dance I made out with the girl I danced with, each song a different girl. One girl near the end of the dream actually claimed the next song just so she could get a piece of me. Unfortunately, the dream ended before I got to dance with her. The kinda cool thing about my dream was that all the girls I know from RL. I think. I only really remember two of them, and maybe a third, although I think that might just be because she was in another dream instead. One girl was my first kiss, and the other (the last one that I didn't get to dance with) is an interesting, albeit not the hottest, still fairly cute, friend of a friend who is now my friend too. I think my english is failing me. I should go play some FFXII before I collapse of lack of sleep. Also, I need to move out. Unfortunately, I have almost no way of supporting myself, short of a miracle happening in which someone I know manages to get me a decent job, and another aquaintance needs a roommate. No way I'd be able to afford a place on my own... I so wish I had done more with my life since leaving school than I have. I'm just starting to look at colleges and stuff now, three years after graduating. I'm going to do online courses, so at least I can follow the schooling wherever I am. I was gonna talk to Jess about this stuff, but she didn't respond to anything I said, and instead just went offline some minutes (maybe 20) after I sent some messages. I also wanted to talk to her about how I felt about her and Laura, but I'm kinda glad I didn't get a chance, as that could've ended up a bit awkward. Yay, now its my turn, though HoT is feeling less whiny than previously this week. In any case, HoT [as many of you may know] has avowed himself with avoiding the whole phemail/courtship phenomenon because all it does is make him stupid. He still clings to this after 11 months; however, some things have began rifling his steadfast dedication to effective asexuality. Lass #1 This is the one whom HoT in his utterly noncompetent fashion kinda-sorta pursued for the course of 2005 without really knowing what he was doing. He asked said lass out in November 2005, got a "talk to me later" reply [to be fair, she was getting on a plane the following morning] and, upon getting no visible responsiveness upon her return, decided for forgo all the courtship crap and take the effectively asexual route [That is to say, I never "asked her later"]. Things go on. HoT has interaction in bits and pieces with said lass, somewhat awkward-seeming, at least for HoT, who never really did understand the situation in the first place. This quarter, HoT is in a class with her. She usually comes in and sits by him and engages in conversation. In short, she is being surprisingly unawkwardly friendly. The quarter is also 7/11ths finished and she spends next quarter in South Africa. Result: Four weeks left before fourteen w/o said lass. Oddly promising, but I'm still confused. Lass #2 This is the one whom HoT mentioned a bit back in the old advice topic. This one lives down the hall from HoT, and they are fairly good friends and part of a collective circle of friends. This lass is not going anywhere this year. HoT has also been perpetually unable to read this lass on most occaisons, period, so doesn't know what to think. She's definitely not the type for traditional courtship and generally tends to be rather quiet and reclusive save with select company. That sort of person. He's found her winsome since, well, January 2006, though he's been able to cling to the whole to-hell-with-courtship thing until late, where it's been starting to wear down. Result: If I really decide to act on this I have people I can turn to to try and handle it well, but the fact remains that the awkwardness potential is pretty damn astounding. </angst> --- {Board 548} What is there left to say?{εί} |

I have no freaking idea what a Densha Otaku is. Anyway, I got absolutely no response from Laura, and the one time I saw her online this past week, she signed off right after I logged on. She's probably told Jess about my email, so I've probably screwed over any chances with Jess anytime soon. I did talk to Katy a bit Wednesday and she still seems friendly, but she's the second girl I've met where I feel close to her more like a brother than a prospective girlfriend. See what Lass 1 says to going out for coffee or something, just the two of you. Yes, it's as friends, but it's a lot more intimate than with a group. Of course, you may have already done this. I don't really know. Or, if you don't think there's any point try that with Lass 2. At least with her, you can start building up to actual dates. You'll get more comfortable with yourself, and being alone with her, but just going for coffee means it can be as short as 15 min', and you can leave with out it seeming like a total cop out, or at least not as bad. Unless the conversation died out after 5 min', and it's just getting awkward. There's no easy way out of that.
